INITIAL CONSULTATION
I require new clients have an initial consultation with me. This consultation will take approximately two hours. We will discuss your interests, values, goals, preferences... This knowledge of who you are will translate into colors, shapes, styles, etc. and form what your new visual image may become. We will also discuss possible marketing directions.

Initial consultations are $100. After the initial consultation, you will decide if you feel we are a good match to work together. Project estimating comes next. All terms are mutually agreed upon before any job begins. When your signed estimate and deposit is received, I get to work.

LOGO DESIGN
information and costs
Designing a logo starts at $700. Price will vary depending on the specifics of your project.

The work put into creating your logo starts with the initial consultation. It also includes internet research, the time spent in books, trade publications and design magazines --- all of which help articulate your identity. I then sketch, design and create digital ideas until a single image is agreed upon. The final digital piece of art is then created. Your logo is then complete. I e-mail you the digital art then burn various versions of your logo to a CD; you'll have full color and grayscale composites saved in formats suitable for web, video and print use.

Finished logos belong to you and can be used in any way you choose.

Changes to a logo that is completed and already paid for will be treated as a new job and billed accordingly at a rate of $70/hour.

PRINT DESIGN

We can design all of your company's promotional pieces and fully coordinate the estimating of printing for you. We have excellent local and online sources for printing. Client is responsible for printing costs at the time of purchase.

copy editing: Professional writers/editors will be suggested to help you create or edit your text/copy on an as needed basis.

WEB SITES
information & costs
This industry is changing and the trend seems to be towards template websites that can be updated by the business owner, or someone at their company. We realize that not all companies are comfortable updating their own websites, so we offer different packages as per each individual need.

To create a website, one needs to:
1) buy a domain name,
2) create the web site itself, add search engine optimization and register your site with web crawlers.
3) purchase web site hosting so your site's live and available to the public 24/7, 365 days a year.

Domain names cost $10 (or more) a year, and basic hosting plans vary from at around $150 to $600 a year depending on what type of site you are launching. We will do the initial set-up to have renewal notices sent to your specified e-mail inbox and automatic yearly renewal payments as you direct.

Building the web site itself is a shared job. Primarily, clients organize page by page their photos, text, forms, merchandise and any other elements they'd like to include in their web site. After that's done, I begin the work of designing and building the web site, combining all elements in a cohesive, attractive and user-friendly way.

Consultations define what you need and how best I can help. Afterwards, I will put together a written estimate of costs and a work summary. I ensure all terms are mutually accepted before any job begins. Once things are agreed upon, I get to work.

Because every project is different, the cost of creating a web site varies greatly. I prefer to create beautiful & easy-to-maneuver-through websites and if a shopping cart or other interactive applications are required, I will call upon another web associate to assist with that programming. Sites start at $1000, and most web site projects I handle come in under $4000. This includes basic SEO (search engine optimization). I request half of the project cost upfront to get things started. The remainder is due upon completion and is expected within one week of the invoice date.

For web site maintenance and other types of ongoing work, I will work with you to determine a monthly cost and we can set up a retainer agreement.

Because every client's budget is different I am happy to consider payment terms individually and create a plan that works for both of us.

A Less Costly Design Process
Design takes time... It could take less time or more time...
researching and gathering examples of websites or printed pieces that appeal to you, help determine what direction your design will take.

To streamline the process, it helps to be organized. Start by arranging your text and photographs into folders according to what page they will go onto.

Make your changes/adjustments all at once, in an easy to follow, organized manner via the written word - e-mail is preferred.

FILMING & EDITING
Video is a cost effective way to bring your message, product or service to a larger audience. With video, your target audience gets a larger and more complete picture of what you are presenting in a short amount of time. A wealth of information can be expressed in 2-3 minutes... and impacts your audience on different sensory levels: visually, audibly and emotionally... ensuring your message has more opportunity to be heard, and remembered.

Video uploaded to YouTube and embedded in your website, seriously helps your website to soar in the Google ratings, and there is also the convenience of easy to forward links, and simple uploads from YouTube to blog pages, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
